If you are having any problems with your CD-ROM, please read this document.
Depending on your configuration, you may get some troubles when launching this title. Here are solutions to the most frequently encountered troubles. Before trying to contact us, please check that your problem has no listed solution in this file.
• You have a Lc 450, 475 Macintosh or a Performa 630 that has no PowerPC processor and when you try to launch the program, it freezes and your macintosh doesn't react to any click.
Correction: You have to launch the memory control panel and click on "32 bits adresses" to get this feature active. Restart your Macintosh.
• Message: “This application couldn't launch because Soundlib cannot be found”. It appears when trying to launch this application.
Correction: You have to install Sound Manager 3.1. Click on the "installation Quicktime 2.1" icon in the "Help" folder that you'll find on this CD-ROM. You will be allowed to select only Sound Manager installation if needed.
The existing files with the same name will be automatically replaced with this newer version. Restart your Macintosh.
It appears when trying to launch this application.
Correction: For QuickTime installation, you have to click on the "installation Quicktime 2.1" icon in the "Help" folder that you will find on this CD-ROM. The existing files with the same name will be automatically replaced with this newer version. Restart your Macintosh.
• Your Macintosh has only 8 Mo Ram and there is not enough memory available for the application.
Correction: You have to free up some more memory by desactivating some extensions that are not necessary on your macintosh; example : appleshare if you're not logged to a network (very common case).
• Message : “Unknown error” on Power Macintosh.
Correction: Delete the “Module QT Power PC 1.0” which is in the “Extensions” folder of the “System” folder. Check that the QuickTime files delivered on this CD-ROM are well copied in your “Extensions” folder. Restart your Macintosh.
Sound problems
• Staccato sound on Macintosh AV.
The sound is sometimes staccato and unintelligible.
Correction: You must desactivate the video extensions of your Macintosh and set up QuickTime 2.1. In order to do it, you must move the files that are in the “Extension” folder of your “System” folder.
• Staccato sound during transitions.
The sound is satccato during the change from one screen to another.
Correction: This problem occurs when the memory is saturated. Your system takes too much memory. You must either add memory to your computer, or try to reduce your system.
If you are running your application with virtual memory, the sound is sometimes cut. You must stop virtual memory, and restart your Macintosh.
• Display problems with a Precision Color Radius Pivot screen.
During transitions, dissolve effect doesn’t work (no effective transition).
The transition effect “dissolve” doesn’t work on this type of monitor.
